And those are great pics, btw!

MoMo! Thank you! I took these when I was home over the holidays. I love it during the winter there. The beaches are empty and peaceful I went down every day no matter how old it got. I can't wait to move back!

How goes Sandy Ego?

oh my, that is so lovely.

Thank you, by the way ... don't waste the pretty. :)

yaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

Did you have your beach badge on when you went down there?

BTW - Just like me, you are officially a shoobie now. I don't like it any more than you, but facts are facts.

Same Ocean now, though. We just get a lake. A big fucking lake. Not quite big enough to inspire Gordon Lightfoot.

The pictures are lovely. They feel both sunny and cold.

Funny, I can tell the diff between the NJ beaches and the Cali ones. Your pics are SOOOooo NJ! I remember those wooden stick fences so well! I NEVER see those here. I remember spearing jelly fish with one of the wooden pieces broken off those flimsy little fences one year in Pt. Pleasant when the Jelly swarmed us and took over the beach! LOL!

Sandy Ego beaches are pretty awesome, too, though. They are not empty in the winter like yours are. You've inspired me now! I think I will go down and take some beach pictures to post on my blog, too.

the funny thing is that they have a concrete path along the beach and they actually have the nerve to call it a boardwalk! HA!!!! I cracked up at that one! No one has the REAL boardwalks like NJ!

When do you go back, anyway? This summer?

Modigliani said...

Jelly fish, that is. :)

Oh, you should post some FL beaches, too. Just for the comparison. It might be cool so see the differences, don't you think?

amazing that a state that smells so bad can be so beautiful. ;)

Suddenly I want to visit NJ. I've never been back east.

I moved so much as a kid I don't really know where to call home, so I've settled with the entire state of California.

I will stand up for Jersey since me mum was born there. I've also made a few trips there in the past five years and really enjoy each visit.

Go Seahawks!

Wow. That Longport Point shot reminds me of my favourite place in the world, on Lake Huron. In my dreams, I always go to a place like this.

And this is Jersey? Jersey? Someone's gotta talk to the tourisim people. Better yet, talk to Hollywood. They definitely give off the wrong impression.

I'm way the hell up in Canada ... this is New Jersey?

Scarlet Hip said...

I'll answer all these later. I have to get to school early - we are going on a field trip. OY! Looking at these pictures is soothing my soon-to-be destroyed sanity.

Hey Bill, I could have used that in the NJ slogan contest. Yes, this is New Jersey. Dammit!!!

You're looking forward to going back, aren't you?

Wow! I wish I could call the sandy beaches home...but someone has to live in the mountains with all the rednecks to keep the deer population at guard

Beautiful.

I just want you to know that it doesn't bother me that you chose Neil to be your chat buddy even though I am your SMB. It also doesn't bother me that I had to find out when he boasted about it on his blog in front of the whole internet.

What was your sister's phone number again?

I loved field trips. Where's the class going? The aquarium? I love the aquarium. Especially the cool stuff you can buy at the gift shop.

By the way JJ, half the time we just chatted about how wonderful you are -- so there. Except during the phone sex. (that's a joke, Brooke -- you know I respect you as a accomplished woman and would never suggest that)

fine, rub it in jerk.

SG - never waste the pretty.

Jiggs - I know I know, when all else fails - yaaaaaaaaaayyyy!

Flounder - I live on the beaches of Fort Lauderdale now. I am not a shoobie. You are however. Shoooooobie!

Carl - I like dick.

Sysm - it was both sunny and cold. Just the way I love it there.

MoMo - actually they only put the wooden sticks and pathways up a couple of years ago when they did the big beach replenishment project. The locals hate it. The project ruined the views and there no waves for the surfers anymore. And it probably won't work anyway.

Dani - Gooogeous!

Jill - spoken like a true New Yorker. If Jersey is so bad then how come your football teams come here to play? Hmmmm?

MP - I'm telling you it is beautiful here (there, I'm acting like I already have moved back). When I get back, you must visit me!

Scarlet Hip said...

TRM - you have no idea!

Brian - better you than me.

Denny - thanks for coming by! I'll be sure to check out your site. (shoooobie!)

JJ - I have no sister, you little brat. I'm barose65 on yahoo. Send me a dirty message and I'll add you to my contact list.

Sizz - I miss it so. Can you tell?

Miss K - then my work here is done.

Neil - we went to butterfly world - and actually had a great time. But I am so fucking tired now I feel like I could sleep for days. Days I tell you!

Danny - am I rubbing or jerking? I'm confused.

Anonymous said...

you are rubbing, I'm jerking, but who's cleaning it up?

Scarlet Hip said...

Jesus.

Looky here Brooke, the fact that you live near a beach does not automatically give you lifetime local status in Ventnor. And you sound even more like a shoobie when you deny it!

I'm not a shoobie. I come down every summer.

I'm not a shoobie. I live in Cherry Hill.

I'm not a shoobie. My family has owned a summer house on Martindale Avenue for over 50 years.

I'm not a shoobie. I live on the beaches of Ft Lauderdale.

Face it babe, you're a shoobie now. Don't worry, I'll still love you anyway.

Scarlet Hip said...

BabyJ - you are a fucking crack up. I'm surprised you didn't put that on your blog. Please don't show that to certain people/stuffed animals.

Weed - but of course lovey. I think we may need to have a blog convention in Atlantic City this summer.

Spinning Girl - you will both get your due credit. I am a mad linker.

Flounder - I move back in four months. Shoobie. And the Martindale Avenue comment put me on the floor. Well down. We so have to meet up for a drink this summer. Chez Maynaaaards?

Spirit Of Owl said...

Motherfucking beautiful. I missed your tattoo. I love that too.

flounder said...

Congrats on moving back. You are on for a drink this summer. Maybe a bucket of rocks on the deck at the Greenie!

Scarlet Hip said...

Owl - and I love you too.

Flounder - you're on! How did you know that is what I always order when I go there?

Anonymous said...

Great pictures. :)

jiggs said...

Nothing wrong with a little positivity.

flounder said...

Why.... what else would you order?

By then, Mrs Flounder will be ready for a few drinks as well. I guess that we will be leaving little Jake with grandma that day.

Scarlet Hip said...

Chuck - you did not offend me. But I do prefer Jesus to a psychopathic murderer. Call me crazy...

Bill - thanks for sharing.

Marel - even if they are all crooked!

Gorgonzola - you smell like feet.

Jiggs - you are fabulous for my ego - what's left of it anyway.

Flounder - I'm looking forward to this already.
