Just Because

It was my favorite song. On my favorite show. In my favorite scene. Ever.

Oh I loved this show. I watched it faithfully. Faithfully! Until they cancelled it, and then I cried. For like a week

I never did see this show, but I heard a lot about it once it was over...not a great deal of help to me then :(

Have you seen Jared Leto lately?

i have no idea what this clip was, but it reminds me of those commercials that try to demonstrate it's okay to tell your sister that you have herpes or acne or some other teenage crisis. is that what happens in the next scene? because if so, i guess i am a romantic, too.

The whole series is on DVD - it's already at the top of my Christmas list.

Loved. It.

It saddens me that grunge-era icon Jared Leto is now a foppish dandy in some second rate emo band.

Look at all those kids, being so grunge with their flannel shirts. How cute.

I still love Claire Danes to this day. She's got a smart pretty girl thing going on.

I loved LOVED that show. What song is that? Anyone?

Heather - I cried for two weeks. And a half.

Princess - find a way to watch it on DVD. It was only on one season. It's well worth it.

Sizz - fantasy of high school girls and grown women alike.

Valley Girl - my uniform of the 90's!

Egan - hush. Don't spoil the moment.

Brando - would you like to talk about that feminine itching problem you're having?

Miss B - see if I had known I'd have put that on my list of stuff I didn't get for my birthday.

Todd - shhhh. Don't spoil the moment.

Jacob - I was so all about the grunge. Mostly because it was comfortable and hid a multitude of dieting sins.

Leezer - Late at Night by Buffalo Tom. It's from their album Big Red Letter Day. Brilliance.

Okay, so I liked it. So? SO?

Found ya through Heather, but I see I could have found ya through Sizzle... anywhoo...I found ya. Hope you don't mind if I link you and check out more of your blog?

Man I really miss that show :(

Ubermilf said...

Is that from "Growing Pains?" Where's Kirk Cameron?

(I'm kidding. Please don't hurt me.)

Sorry I missed your birthday! Best wishes and may you meet the Jordan of your dreams. I met one of the writers of this show not long ago, and we both were shaking our heads over what an amazing phenomenon it was, yet lasted only one season (!) -- affecting who knows how many thousands of people, like, forever...

Did I say one week? I meant three! lol

I have no idea what that song is.

Or what show that is from.

Or the scene.

But I am glad that it brings you joy.

i loved that show ever so.

I don't even know what show that is.

There's always Christmas - if you don't get it, I'll mail one to you :)

OK -- so that is Clair Daines and one of the other actors is that openly gay actor I'm always seeing.

and, I like the song -- but I've never heard it and I've never seen this movie.

Or is it a TV show?!?!?!

Do I need to see it? I gather I do!

Wait! IMDB --- "My So Called Life"

(I must have been sleeping when it was on or without cable as now)

Jordan Catalano!

Squee!

In 1994, my old roommate and I worked the same night job. We didn't have cable, and the only channel our TV got was ABC. We used to schedule ourselves to work Sunday nights so that we could have Thursdays off to watch My So-Called Life.

I was devastated when it was cancelled.

I, too, am largely in the dark about this show. But I recognize Ms. Danes and so the show clearly had something going for it. Sounds like it belongs in the same file as "Firefly", great shows TV killed for no good reason.

Scarlet Hip said...

Sue - welcome, and please feel free to roam around!

Yvonne - me too.

Ubie - Kirk Cameron is part of the Christian Right now. Don't get me started.

Billy - long time no see baby. If you run into that writer again, ask her/him if Angela was going to stay with Jordan or go for Brian!

Heather - oh my! You are sooooo funny! LOL!

Scarlet Hip said...

Flounder - where the fuck have you been?

Kendra - ever so ever so.

Nick - so's your face!

Miss B - you're on.

Matty - you need to see it, cause the openly gay actor was also openly gay on the show. It was fab-u-lous.

Tits - squee! I'm so using that one from now on. SQUEEEE!!

Bill - it was fabulous. People like me are still lamenting its loss. You know, people with no lives.

Princess of the Universe said...

Seriously, it was only 1 season? I heard so much about it that I thought it was on for years!

Brrrr said...

ahh jordan catalano. how i loved him. i have the whole series on dvd and still love every episode. can i also just say that if i played for the other team ... claire danes would so be in trouble!

The flounder is semi-retired.

Now I wanna go see what all the hubbub is about and get the DVD.

And it has NOTHING to do with Claire Danes. (did that sound convincing?)

Must be a chick thing.

I am sucker for a great high school TV show too. I loved this show too. Brilliant but canceled like too many others.

Sysm said...

Weren't you, like, 8-years-old when that came out?

Bone said...

This doesn't look like General Hospital. *confused*

Hypersonic said...

I fucking hated this series because the geeky guy always got blown out. Claire Danes sucks to this day.

What does it say about me that watching that scene, I got sad, knowing how much Rayanne (sp?) was going to end up hurting Angela with Jordan?

jiggs said...

Now that claire danes is grown up, she's quite attractive.
