that's awful, brooke. okay, in all seriousness, i sort of scoffed at your proposal earlier, but seeing what you've been through, yes, by all means you may use me for sex. i'd consider it my part towards the relief effort.
I tried to issue a subpoena on someone that lives in Miami this week, and they told me that they couldn't serve it until the 9th. WTF? How am I supposed to ruin someone's life when it's already a wreck??
If that is the Board of Education you work for I can imagine that it may take quite some time for classes to resume. I'd totally get out of there forever too.
Interestingly, I was following some links around yesterday and I got to this. Apparently projections suggest that South Florida's population will grow by 7.5 million people in the next 25 years. Seems like a bad plan to cram more people into such a high risk area to me.
Wow. The photos of cars flipped over really says it all. People don't realize that after Andrew building codes got stronger, so you can't really tell how strong the storm was by looking at buildings. But to flip a car! That's some powerful wind.
I love the photo of the guy sitting on his porch though.
(My brother lives in Jupiter... they did pretty well considering. But still have a lot of work to do.)
Anthony - I couldn't agree more. Especially since this is the beginning of a cycle. Oh, and the teachers go back tomorrow for what will probably be our last planning day - no doubt they will be taking them away from us to make up for hurricane days.
Monkey - I love that photo too. Nothing odd about a 100 year old ficus lying in your yard. I posted these so that others could see that I wasn't exaggerating, the news isn't really showing how bad it is down here. But then again, we are all aware that we have been lucky compared to Katrina victims.
LoLo - come June I am outta here! God I hate packing!!!
Ubie - I don't like it either. But I think I've pretty much exhausted that line of conversation. Clearly if you and Monkey respect this Carl guy, then I must go out and get his books immediately.
Monkey - you are so well read. Or does your woman read to you? She is kind like that.

I used to live in Hollywood. It was kind of like being at the county fair all year long except it was easier to get cocaine.
Wow....Thanks for posting those.

yours,
brandon
brooke,
That's sad. Are you still going to move back to Jersey?
i dont have anything of value to say, but i couldnt pass up the opportunity to be #6, instead of #56.
so, hi.
My prayers are with you brooke.
Wow, I haven't seen much on the news about Wilma so thanks for sharing. I guess I need to watch the news to know what they are reporting though.

Calzone - not only are you a whore, but a coke whore as well.
Kid Sis - good to see you again!
Brando - what a man.
Todd - as soon as the school year is over! You comin'?
Loz - is that why I never say your face? Half the comments are mine anyway, you know that.
Ruben - thank you sweetie. But in all honesty I did quite well through all this. I'm one of the lucky ones.
Egan - the news isn't saying much anyway. Florida government wants to keep this quiet so tourism won't disappear.
Prick - oh how well you suit your name - and your profession!

Brooke, I'm so glad you are safe! I think it's wise to move back to Jersey. Happy packing!!

I read many of Carl Hiassen's novels where he discusses the tragic building patterns in Florida.
We can't fool mother nature.
You weren't a Florida gal, anyway, Brooke. Packing isn't as bad as long-suffering.
This is very sad. I'm glad you are okay.
Ubie - I'm going to take that as a compliment.
MP - you and me both!
Seeing as I don't like Florida, yes, by all means it's a compliment.
But Carl Hiassen rocks. At least his older novels rock. I love that man.

geez, you guys got it worse than we did. glad you're safe.
Thanks Dan. I'm glad you're safe too. Damn hurricanes! How's life in SoBe?
life in sobe is almost back to normal. sun is warm, traffic is scary, and women are back to obsessing over their plastic surgery.
Good times....good times...
