Overheard in my Classrom: II

I don't want to go on vacation! I love school! I want to stay forever!

I want to stay until I'm 257 years old!

I want to stay until I DIE!

I want to stay until my socks get dirty.

Obviously you are the most spectacularly amazing teacher like EVER. I never felt that way.

But like Miss K, I intend to use that expression all the time now.
Let's hope I'm wearing socks at the time that I say it.

Kids who don't want to go on Christmas vacation? I weep for the future.

Oh how cute. On one long weekend my son made the comment that "I really miss Mrs. Young"- those 1st graders really are the best.

I assume, from the picture, that your entire class is made up of black kids with dreadlocks and their very tan white girlfriends.

Are their home lives THAT miserable? Poor kids!

I'd stay too if it meant living to 257. But I also completely understand the socks thing. Nothing says go home like stinky socks.

btw ... What are you doing with those kids that they don't want to go home? Teaching in the nude? I'd stay for that, too.

Sigh. Obviously, you do not teach high school.

They don't wear socks.

Maybe if you weren't such a good teacher they'd want to go home. Or, maybe if you wore dirty socks to school everyday they'd want to go home too.

"May" I go now?

You must be one cool teacher. Seriously, what do you do, hand out cupcakes everyday?

If so, I'll stay until I'm 257, as well.

Kendra - if I went by this time limit for this little girl, she'd have had to go home right at that moment.

Princess - oh sure you felt that way! You just don't remember loving your teacher that much. Just like they will forget me...sniff sniff.

Todd - get in line.

BMP - right? That's why I don't want to deal with those older kids. They are too cool.

Justin - you know what they say when you assume...

Ubie - I'll bet your daughters said the same thing to their teacher.

Bill - I'm mean and strict and bossy. And they love it.

Nance - sure they do, with sandals.

Sizz - if only grown men could be so easily satisfied.

VG - clearly they need therapy.

Toby - you can go home and do your laundry.

Tim - all first graders love their teachers, just wait til Kenslee is in school, you'll see.

Toby - you may go home and do your laundry. And make me a drink.

Bone - cake!!!
