Good luck, Ms. Wose.

I've been watching old westerns so I can't help thinking of this as the return of the schoolmarm to her natural setting. Or unnatural, depending on how you feel about it.

Have fun! Hope it's a good year.

Good luck Brooke.

I wish I'd had a teacher like you, I might've gotten good grades.

I hope all your kids are as polite as they tell me mine are.

Bill thinks you have a bun.

Do you have a bun? Or just buns?

You'll do great. You should get some foul looking beast, like a rabid wolverine or something, and put it in a cage. If they misbehave, threaten to open the cage.

First poke the wolverine with a stick, though, for effect.

I hated the first day of school like R.Kelly hates girls over fifteen.

How did it go?!?!!?!?

I was such a bad kid. You would have hated having me as student. My teachers were forever sending me to the principal, counselor, coach or simply forcing me to stand in the garbage can.

I meant to shine.

Please make sure there are enough lefty scissors in your class. My classes never had enough and I ended up becoming a comedian, mostly because of that...

Modigliani said...

oh, happy day! I hope it was wonderful, and I'm sure it was since you've been planning like a madwoman lately!

I always loved and hated the first day as a kid. But I was more focused on seeing what kids would be in my class!

good luck.

I certainly hope you have a bun(s). By the way, if you do the wolverine thing that Ubie suggests don't forget to stick a finger up its bum first. I recently took my cat to the vet and it's astonishing at the response you get. It will be a memorable moment for all.

BTW - Why are you starting school three weeks before Labor Day? That's just wrong!

Hypersonic said...

(Belated) Luck. Hope you survived, first days back are a bugger.

thephoenixnyc said...

What? Its onlythe middle of August. School doesn't start her until after Labor Day. WTF?

jamwall said...

the first day would always blow monkey bananas.

you'd get there and all the floors of the school were polished and they had that "school smell" air freshner.

i always wanted to scrape up the floorwax and dump raw sewage all over the floors to make it smell like the last day of school again.

Ha! You don't need luck if you have a Trapper Keeper™.

Or that's what the mullet-wearing Lord of Darkness told me when he met me at the crossroads in front of your school last night.

Help...me...

(and good luck, B)

egan said...

Yah, I'm in the school shouldn't start before Labor Day camp too.

Egan's writing from church.

Peace be with you, too.

Put some damn clothes on, Speedo Freak!

Bill said...

So have you abandoned your erudite readers in favour of squalling, ill-bred students?

Or are they cuter than we are?

A person might almost get the idea that you had a real job and actual responsibilities.

:-)

egan said...

Ubie, is it wrong to miss Brooke's online presence? Church is a cool place, but the band The Church is even better. Brooke, how was school yo?

Toby said...

It's been a whole week. Are you sleeping in?

Loz said...

goodness. i hope they let Brooke out alive... send us a sign Brooke!

Here's hoping you can hold onto your brain (especially like that part of you, along with all that goes with it). Wearing your super uniform to school might help. Thinking good thoughts...
