Wild Rose Hip (aka: Scarlet Hip): the pomaceous fruit of the wild rose plant. The stems of the wild rose are prickly, but its hips are not.

Yes, I thought my pic was a disagreeable greeting and might have a negative effect on tourism and property values. But it was a picture I couldn't resist since it was so unexpected (and may explain partly why I'm planning to move).
But as for your picture ... I notice that colourwise it complements the overall scheme. Was that intentional or a happy accident?
btw ... by "scheme" I mean the look of your blog.
