I still can't look at a firefighter without thinking of that day. I can't watch old movies or tv shows that have shots of the Towers. I can't see pictures of Ground Zero without feeling a physical ache in my chest. I can't watch anything about September 11th without bursting into tears. I can't believe that the pain is still as fresh as it was five years ago - if not more so.
I'd like to send out a special thank you to CBS for showing this beautiful, heartbreaking, and moving documentary on 9/11. It was incredibly classy, sensitive, and responsible all at once. Well done, gentlemen.
I'd also like to send out a special fuck you to ABC for showing their bullshit "docudrama of the events leading to 9/11" on the five year anniversary of that very day. It shows a remarkable lack of class, sensitivity, and responsibility. Well done, assholes.

I don't want to watch knowing that if I do, I will sob, deep, heart-wrenching, painful sobs.
Yet, at the same time, when those specials are on, I feel this invisible pull toward the tv.
Five years? Sometimes it seems like only yesterday.
I'm so with you on that ABC comment. I can't believe the network is getting away with it. It infuriates me.
I can't help but think of all this country has lost in the past 5 years, which shows the horrific events of 9/11 had far more dreadful results than were even necessary...
I watched that documentary the first time it was aired and it broke my heart, but I found it to be such a moving tribute to the firefighters who risked or lost their lives on September 11th. Kudos for CBC for choosing to air it again.
ABC can suck my dick.
ABC is a joke. They also give valuable air time to John Stossel, who is merely a tool for big business.
I send you a hug to make that day a little easier...
I agree, the CBS documentary was absolutely riveting and well done. Can't believe it's been five years...
I'll admit that the timing was awful, but that ABC docudrama was pretty damn good last night.
However, the Islamic Jihad on the United States started long before the first attack in 1993. It started in 1979 when Iran took our people hostage and we didn't really respond.
Though certainly culpable, Clinton is not entirely tp blame for 9/11. Carter, Reagan and Bush 41 & 43 all have some blood on their hands.
9-11 was a devastating day, and I ache just thinking about the unbelieveable loss that so many suffered.
One of of the biggest unspoken tragedies of that day, however, is how we alloweded ourselves as a country to be hijacked by the events of that day, which is just what those terrorist fuckers wanted.
I won't be watching any documentaries tonight, I've had enough of that day to last a lifetime.
ABC is a POS. Their defense is "it's a movie" for entertainment. Blah!
Well said.
Thanks Brooke. This is a tough day for our family. I appreciate your thoughts on this day which will live in infamy forever.
amidst all the quiet and sad remembrances and reflections today, i too would like to send a "go fuck yourself" to ABC and all those responsible for that bullshit "docudrama".
BEG - it really does seem like only yesterday.
DZ - I am so disgusted by ABC. I hope their stock plummets.
Tits - you are so hot when you're angry.
Todd - don't get me started on John Stossel! I have a post already started on how much I loathe him.
Mone - hugs rule.
Sunny - I watched it in tears.
Flounder - I could smack you upside the head for watching that crap. Clinton is not to blame, nor are either of the Bushes - terrorists are responsible.
Sleepy - I'm with you.
Toby - can I get an amen!
Maryan - thank you.
Egan - it's a tough day for us all, hang in there.
Darth - thanks babe, I love me some fuck you support.
Very true Brooke, very true. I will explain more later. Take care.
I hate this fucking period in U.S. history.
"Well done, assholes" made me laugh.
That show was written by a friend of Rush Limbaugh's. Nuff said.
You are so hot when you call me hot.
Let's make out.
